The Heretic

“The Heretic” is a song based upon the Italian movie “Flavia, la monaca musulmana” – also known as “Flavia, The Heretic” – from 1974. Just as with “She Wolf of the SS” I wanted to remove the name “Flavia” from the title. Since there a several movies with the name “The Heretic” people have been guessing witch movie this song is about. The lyrics is about a young nun who must fight her sexual urges and her conflicts with her faith. The song tells the story of this nun and her inner conflicts. How is it to have the needs for sex when your religion forbids you that pleasure and you believe you will burn for all eternity for your sins? It is a real nunsploitation story. There is a lot of small references and hidden tributes in the lyrics. To other bands and movies. The song opens with a sinister intro. Before we go into a kind of a riff that is a bit different on this album. It is important to keep the tempo down to get the right groove. “The Heretic” is a fun song the play live.

LYRICS:
Flay me baby
One more time
You like that, sister?
You’ll burn in Hell!

All men must die! All men must die!

Flavia! The Heretic! Flavia!

Religious oppression
Sexual frustration
Sadistic violence
Crash course in Hell

All men must die! All men must die!

Flavia! The Heretic! Flavia!

Faith and hypocrisy
All out of luck
The devil will strike you down
You sinful nun!

All men must die! All men must die!

Flavia! The Heretic! Flavia!
